Dan mentors future entrepreneurs at Startup Weekend

Our founder Dan has been busy. In October, he was a mentor at Startup Weekend in Exeter, a rewarding experience for all who took part.

Bringing together 80 students, 8 teams and 30 pitches, the event was an opportunity for participants to learn the step-by-step processes of conceiving and creating their own startup business.

It was Dan’s job to share a few first-hand tips on the do’s and don’ts of startups. He was particularly impressed by the sheer range and quality of ideas being pitched by participants from all over the globe. These included MBA students at Exeter and LSE, and entrepreneurial students from the Bader International Study Centre in Canada.

The worthy winner was the Wonky Soup Company, who came up with a nifty way of dealing with food surplus whilst serving the local community and reducing food miles.

A big congratulations to the winners, and best of luck in the future to all those who took part!
